Pocket DAB Radio

Let me tell you a story...

My Father-in-Law is a technophobe, but likes music. He is also a fisherman, and when out by the lake/pond/puddle he'd like to listen to the radio, but doesn't want to frighten off the fish. He arrived at our house with his mobile to see if I could figure out how to make the radio work.

Well this thing, although only two years old, is from the dark ages. It's a 'flip' phone, with buttons, yes really, BUTTONS, and a screen more basic than the 10 year old Nokia gathering dust in my drawer.

I played with the phone and found it such a faff to get the radio to function (& it'll only work with certain headphones), that I plotted to bring him into the modern era, and this is where this ultra-pocket-sized DAB radio comes in to the picture.

This thing is blooming marvellous. It's teeny at only 8.3x4.7x1.8cm, has a nice brushed rubber feel and can play up to 7 hours, so should cope with a day's fishing. It comes with everything most people need to make it work: KS Vibes Earphones, USB charge cable and a lanyard. One quick note: I have plenty of places to plug the charge cable into (computer, USB plugs, radio etc.), but my F-I-L will need something to plug the USB cable into, as he really is a luddite, but I'll just give him one of our spare plugs.

I have tested it (using my own headphones), to make sure it's easy enough for him to work, and I think it is, so I'll pack it up for Christmas🎅🏼, and we'll see if he likes it.
