First look : VW New California
The iconic camper van, the VW California, has a new generation: the New California. Based on the long version of the modern Multivan, it's been redesigned to be more spacious, smarter, and sustainable while maintaining the classic design.
Key features like the pop-up roof and meticulously planned interior remain. Equipped with the latest powertrain, assist, and infotainment systems, it's perfect for everyday use and spontaneous adventures. With two standard sliding doors and a plug-in hybrid all-wheel drive system, it offers even more versatility and range.
The New California range offers five distinct versions tailored to various lifestyles and travel needs. These new models come with upgraded features to enhance comfort and versatility. Compared to their predecessors, the new models feature removable individual seats in the rear, providing flexibility for different seating configurations. Each seat weighs 24 kg and comes with practical drawers underneath. Additionally, there's an abundance of 45-watt USB-C ports to keep mobile devices powered up.
Here's a brief overview of each version:
1. California Beach
This entry-level model is essentially a Multivan with a manual pop-up roof. It accommodates six seats and offers space for two people to sleep under the pop-up roof. The raised roof bed is equipped with a comfortable mattress and high-quality dished springs.

The Beach Tour comes with rotating and height-adjustable driver and front passenger seats, ergonomic folding chairs in the boot lid, and additional camper battery onboard. It can accommodate five passengers and offers extra sleeping space in the living area with a fold-out mattress.
3. California Beach Camper:
Designed as a classic camper van, the Beach Camper features a compact mini-kitchen and a 230-volt shore power connection. It provides sleeping space for five and comes with a kitchen module installed in the load compartment.
