Oak Tyres grows its positive impact with Ecologi
This World Earth Day, 22nd April 2025, independent tyre wholesaler Oak Tyres is proud to share a key sustainability milestone: the company has offset 7.4 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e) emissions and helped plant over 60,000 trees in association with environmental partner, Ecologi.
A dedicated partner of Ecologi for more than four years, Oak Tyres continues to demonstrate its environmental commitment as the brand understands the importance of being climate conscious and sustainable.
The projects Oak Tyres has supported include the construction of the Ouarzazate solar power station in Morocco, one of the largest concentrated solar projects in the world. Also, the company has contributed to the distribution of fuel efficient cookstoves to communities around Kenya to help combat greenhouse gas emissions and improve the respiratory health of many families by reducing the levels of indoor pollution.
Since the start of the partnership, the impact of Oak’s carbon offsetting is the equivalent of 5,678 long haul flights, 22,200 square metres of sea ice saved or over 18.3 million miles driven in a car.
Peter Cross, Oak Tyres’ Commercial Director, said: “Tyre brands must embrace sustainability not as a trend, but as a fundamental responsibility. Our well established partnership with Ecologi has gone from strength to strength, as we aim to become a more climate conscious and sustainable business. When we look back over the partnership, it is special to see what we have achieved together.”
